Silver Mist Schwinn Manta Ray Near Perfect No Reserve1971 schwinn manta ray silver mist. Hi and welcome! In this lot, up for bid is a 1971 schwinn manta ray, silver mist color. We fuond this bike at a garage sale. We researched it online and we were told that silver mist is the rarest color available. Serial number ago41324, which means it was made january(letter a for the month), 1971(letter g for '71). This is a hand brake model. We have rode the bike and all mechanics work(brakes, gear shift, etc. ). Paint is all good except for a few scratches. Decals are in fiar shape.
On the chain guard side the letters inn are missing from the schwinn decal. One scratch on the m on manta ray on the chain guard. We believe the seat is original.
Metal tag is in good shape. The seat cover has a few rips. The pedals have white reflectors.
One side is pefrect and one side is missing both reflectors. eW believe that is has the original tires and grips. Both tires are original cshwinn tires, back tire saying schwinn fastback slick and the front says schwinn straight side sports touring. The fenders do have some dents, the rear has 5 or six dents in it, and the front has 1 or 2. Both have good chrome and still look really nice.
