Serial # starst ld- november 1968, but i believe it's a 1969 model.
This bike has a 2 speed kickback hub. Bike is in very nice condition, and rides beautifully. It is in all original condition down to the tires. I have cleaned and greased the bearings in the bottom bracket and the headset, and polished both the paint and the chrome. There are a few chips in the paint that will be easy to touch up, i did not want to hide anything so i left the paint as is. Decals and hcainguard screening are in good shape. Please keep in mind that hte bike is 40 years old. It is in great shape, but not mint. It turns heads everywhere it goes, and was ridden proudly in our towns memorial day parade. Biek componets includeschwinn s-5 26 inch raised center wheelset that spins true. Rims, hubs and spokes are clean and free of any rust or corrosion. It has the original schwinn straight side sport touring whitewall tires. Tires are solid, and have plenty of tread, but do show signs of aging upon clsoe inspection. 2 speed kickback rear hub, with 3 yellow bands. Hub shifts very smoothly, like new and stops on a dime. Chrome fender set with rear reflector, in good condition. The fender braces were painted long ago, and i repainted them with aluminum paint. Schwinn 2 tone black and hwite mattress saddle, good condition both top and bottom. hTe original black glitter hand grips. Everything else on teh bike is original, and in good condition. Shipping will be a flat rate of $50.00 naywhere in the continental us. Local pickup available. Bike will be partly disassembled for shipping. Bike will be sold as is, no refunds or warranties.
